Honouring the Land and Its First Peoples

We acknowledge that we live and work on the traditional territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən (Lekwungen) peoples, including the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations, and the W̱SÁNEĆ peoples, including the Tsartlip, Tseycum, and Pauquachin Nations. We are grateful to live, work, and do business on these lands, and are committed to supporting local communities, businesses, and economies in a way that honours this place and its people.

Thinking Local First means supporting and celebrating the people who make our region what it is. We recognize the important role Indigenous organizations, businesses and entrepreneurs play in our local community. To help celebrate our region’s richness and diversity, we have gathered a selection of resources for continued learning and connection.
